Industry Professionals and Librarians
Spring Fling 2026 is a great opportunity for bookstore owners, BookTok creators, podcasters, librarians, publishing professionals and others to connect, network and learn about trends in romance categories and the craft of romance writing. On Thursday evening, April 16, 2026, at 5 p.m. we’ll host our Spring Fling Bookseller, Blogger, Librarian, and Podcaster networking event in the 39th floor Ballroom .
Pitch Event with Agents and Editors
In addition, we welcome these industry professionals who will be taking pitches as part of our Conference Pitch Event. Registered attendees will be sent a link to our registration form, which will allow them to rank which editors they’d like to pitch. Pitch requests are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis until slots are full.
Katie Holt - Editor, St. Martin’s Press
I’m an editorial assistant at St. Martin’s Press interested in anything romance in young adult and adult fiction. I am not the right fit for non-fiction. I studied English and Creative Writing at NYU, where I also worked as a bookseller at The Strand. I love all things romance (books, movies, TV shows, music, etc.)!
The only trope I’m not a fan of is love triangle (so bring on the accidental pregnancy and secret babies!). In terms of subgenre, I love anything from rom-com, angsty, paranormal, to dark. My dream submission would be a mafia rom-com (think if Analyze This had a romantic plotline). I’m also desperate to read another con artist romance, like DISHONESTLY YOURS. Same with any cowboy romances (think Elsie Silver or Lyla Sage!).
I’m a Nora Ephron fanatic and would love to read anything related to or inspired by her! I’m also interested in messy heroines who are hilarious and lovable, like YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER. And softer, lyrical romances like GEORGIE ALL ALONG. I’m on the hunt for a fresh speculative romance, too (either hilarious like THE LOVE OF MY AFTERLIFE or a tad angsty like THE DEAD ROMANTICS). Give me anything that plays with parallel universes!
I also don’t shy away from any amount of spice. I love Tessa Bailey, but also more closed door romances like Clare Gilmore’s. I’m dedicated to amplifying women and BIPOC voices, too. I’d love to read any Peruvian voice or anything with a Peruvian setting. I’d also love to amplify conversations about mental health.
Christine Goss - Agent, Fine Print Lit
Christine Goss graduated from Lake Forest College with a BA in communications. Formerly a sales representative, her skills pair well with her love of reading and story development. As an author herself, the craft of writing is very important to her when she looks at manuscripts. In 2023, Christine was promoted to Associate Literary Agent at The Purcell Agency, moving over to FinePrint Literary in 2024.
Christine is drawn to stories with high stakes and tension. The first pages must draw her in with action and curiosity. Lyrical writing, along with emotionality, physicality, and interiority, are all key components Christine looks for in a manuscript.
Christine is generally interested in romance, historical fiction, book club fiction, and fantasy. Non-fiction and graphic novels covering a specific range of topics are also of interest. Championing marginalized voices is important to Christine as she seeks to include BIPOC, LGTBQ+, and neurodivergent (and more) authors on her list.
When she’s not working, reading, or writing, she’s usually chasing her two boys, who are likely chasing her fur baby (dog).
Beth Miller - Agent, Writer’s House
I joined Writers House in 2007, and have been there ever since, working closely with senior agent Robin Rue.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with many bestselling authors in various genres, as well as the joy of building my own list. I’m primarily looking for romance and women’s/book club fiction, but I’m also open to some historical fiction and YA.
I am looking for projects that I can’t stop thinking about after I reach the end and make me forget where I am when I’m reading them! I am a native Long Islander and published author, as well as an avid traveler and amateur photographer. In my free time, weather-permitting, I can often be found on a local whale watching boat, and I combine my love for whales with my love for travel as often as possible.
